Jamshedpur।
In a first, a healing garden was inaugurated at the Tata Main Hospital here today. The ‘Maatritva Healing Garden’ setup in the area next to the New Cabin of the hospital is an initiative of the Tata Steel Foundation and the Suri Seva Foundation to offer a natural space within the healthcare facility for patients, family, and hospital staff. Mrs Ruchi Narendran inaugurated the garden in presence of Mr Sourav Roy, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Steel Foundation and Mr Kulvin Suri from Suri Seva Foundation were present on the occasion.
“The healing garden is a befitting gift to the city of Jamshedpur and at a location which requires such spaces the most. It is an embodiment of the values which we embrace and reflects the gratitude which many in the Tata Steel family have been increasingly demonstrating through their acts of benevolence and giving back towards Jamshedpur,” said Mrs Narendran.
Its design aims to bring the benefits of the outdoors into the hospital, adding to the physical, psychological, emotional, and social elements of wellbeing and maximizing patients’ recovery.
The healing garden will look at providing a much needed private, intimate natural experience for the patients, aiding their healing and well-being.
