Community Health Centre, Mandu, a 40 bedded hospital is an important public health service provider and lifeline for the community residing in interior villages of the block. As per Census 2011, around 40% of the population belongs to the SC/ST community with prime source of income as daily wage labourers in mining areas and local brick-kilns. In addition, the centre is well connected with the neighbouring blocks of Ramgarh and Hazaribagh district through NH 33 and therefore has a regular footfall of the patients from both districts.
While implementing various public health initiatives like immunization of children, cataract surgery camps, prevention of non-communicable diseases, treatment of TB patients and during the pandemic, the Foundation has been closely working with CHC and leveraged to reach out for preventive as well as curative measures.
The centre provides OPD services like Mother and Child Health Care Services, Emergency health services and others through specialist doctors, frontline health workers and dedicated staffs. Presently, the CHC requires upgradation for ensuring smooth operation and to provide a clean and healthy environment with appropriate facilities for the patients.
