Jamshedpur : The revised provisions under the new labour codes are set to cause enormous impact on both the
organisations and their workforce. It is of utmost importance to understand how these will improve the ease of
business and what measures should be taken to align practices to the changes. The labour ministry has
consolidated 29 central labour laws into four labour codes – the code on wages, the social security code, the
industrial relations code, and the occupational, safety, health and working conditions code. With this context,
Jamshedpur Management Association organised a Half Day Workshop on New Labour Law Codes 2020 & its
Impact on Industry on Friday, 9th December, 2022 at The United Club, Jamshedpur
Mr. Rajesh Prasad, Deputy Labour Commissioner & Additional Registrar – Trade Union, Department of Labour,
Employment, Training & Skill Development, Government of Jharkhand was the subject matter expert the
workshop. Mr. Prasad updated the participants on the proposed changes in the labour codes and said that the
new labour laws will have a wide impact on the industry. Prasad gave a brief presentation on the proposed
changes with respect to Jharkhand on Wage Code, Industrial Relations Code & social security codes. This
targeted discussion was attended by 22 HR/IR professionals from Cummins, Tata Steel Long Products, TIMKEN &
Tata Motors.
Mr. Satish Agarwal, Director Corporate Relations JMA along with Ms. Asmita Salunkhe, Centre Head JMA and Mr.
Vinay Kumar, Manager JMA conducted the program.
