Under the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren utmost priority is being given to provide holistic, skill-based, employment-oriented education to the children of Jharkhand. To achieve this objective children from 80 Schools of Excellence and 325 Block-level model schools will be given vocational education. A proposal to help secure the same has been prepared. Vocational Education Labs will be launched in a state level program from March.
Vocational education to be imparted in 11 trades
Government School children will be imparted vocational training for 11 said trades. These include Agriculture, IT, ITES, Apparel and Make-up and Home Furnishing, Media and Entertainment, Automotive, Tourism and Hospitality, Beauty and Wellness, Multiskilling, Electronics and Hardware, Retail and Healthcare. Arrangements are being made to facilitate on-job training through industrial field visits to state-level establishments and institutions associated with the respective trade, so that employment opportunities can be made available to the students as per their interests.
Trained headmasters to guide the children
Online training of Principals of 80 Schools of Excellence and 325 block-level Model Schools has been given by the National Center for School Leadership in two phases. Further, the training of Principals of 80 Schools of Excellence has also been completed in two phases by the Azim Premji Foundation. Plans are in place to organise Exposure Visits for the Principals and Teachers to such schools of other states so that they get acquainted with the educational facilities available there. In the month of January, training will be imparted by IIMs for capacity building of principals. While the Azim Premji Foundation Framework has been prepared for the Teaching Needs Assessment (TNA) of teachers of secondary and higher secondary schools.
