Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Horse Riding School hosted its first ever Horse Show on January 14. The event organised by Tata Steel saw participation of 57 riders from Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar. Tata Steel CEO & Managing Director T V Narendran was the Chief Guest for the event and also distributed the awards along with Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services. Also present on the occasion were D B Sundaramam, Vice President Raw Materials, Atrayee Sanyal, Vice President Human Resource Management and key stakeholders from Jamshedpur.
Participating horses included 9 Thoroughbred and 2 Ponies (Janskari Pony Bread). These horses are well trained and maintained with utmost care.
The aim of the show was to introduce and groom children for competitive riding. The plan is to make this into an annual event and also use the Horse Riding School to encourage equestrian in Jamshedpur, especially amongst the younger generation.
Show Jumping, Hacks, Tent Pegging and Gymkhana events Like poll bending race, Lemon Spoon race and Ball & Buckets race were main attraction of today’s show. Total 12 events were held during the show including events for children and open competitions for all age groups. Dharmenrdra Singh, EFI member and jury attended the show and judged the events.
Jamshedpur Horse Riding School, established in the early 90s has groomed local talent to participate in several horse riding competitions. Most recently, the school has won four medals in 2022. Rider Shaurya Singh won one Gold one Bronze medal at Ghaziabad Horse Show while another rider Harnika clinched one Silver and one Bronze medal at Delhi Horse Show.
