Jamshedpur: The district administration of East Singhbhum today caught a dumper transporting sand without valid documents in Moubhandar in Ghatsila Sub-division, official in a statement said.
The action was a part of ongoing drive against illegal hoarding of minerals in the district.
In course of the drive, a sand-laden hywa truck was intercepted by the district raid team under Moubhandar and asked the driver to show documents related to the mineral.
The driver produced an old e-chalan of 8th January.
The Circle Officer of Ghatsila seized the vehicle and nanded over to Moubhandar Outpost police.
Earlier, the administration seized 2000 Cft sand in Chandanpur in Chakulia on late last night.
The administration also confiscated three dumpers and registered a case against unidentified vehicle owners and drivers in this regard with Shyamsunderpur police station.
Tightening its noise around miscreants indulged in illegal trading of minerals, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadav has issued strict direction to officials concerned to conduct surprise raids continuously against people storing minerals in unauthorised manner in the district.
Based on the input, a team led by Executive Magistrate, Ghatsila, Jaiprakash Karmali initiated action and seized 2000 Cft sand stored in Chandanpur under Chakulia circle of Ghatsila sub-divison last night.
The people involved in the illicit trade managed to escape on seeing the approaching official.
On reaching the spot, Executive Magistrate called the Chakulia Circle Officer Smt. Jaywanti Deogam and informed the local police station and launched the joint action.
The operation against the hoarders completed at around 9.30 pm and impounded three empty heavy vehicles from the spot.
A subsequent interrogation has revealed that the illegal trading was taking place in connivance with some villagers.
The Circle officer of Chakulia lodged a FIR against unidentified villagers, vehicle owners and drivers for stealing government property, causing revenue loss and under relevant sections of Mine and Mineral (Development and Regulations) Act in this connection, an official said..
