Jamshedpur: Altogether six trains including two express trains and four passenger specials on Thursday (23rd February) have been cancelled due to a rail roko agitation at Bamara station in Odisha under Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway.
The rail roko agitation was resorted by local residents in support of their demand for stoppage of mail/express trains at Hamara in Odisha, bordering Jharkhand.
The agitation is being staged inspite of the fact that four mail/express trains viz. 13288/13287 Rajendranagar-Durg-Rajendranagar express, 22839/22840 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela express, 12833/12834 Ahmedabad-Howrah-Ahmedabad express and 18477/18478 Puri-Yog Nagari Rishikesh-Puri express have already been provided stoppage at Bamara station with effect from 17th/18th February, 2023.
As a result of the agitation, the train services of SER have been cancelled on 23rd February. The train cancelled today included 18125 Rourkela-Puri express, 18109 Tatanagar-Itwari express, 08168 Jharsuguda-Rourkela passenger Special, 08167 Rourkela-Jharsuguda passenger Special, 18176 Jharsuguda-Hatia passenger Special and 18175 Hatia-Jharsuguda passenger Special.
