Jamshedpur: Hundreds of doctors under the banner of Indian Medical Association, Jamshedpur chapter and JHSA today resorted to a day-long strike in protest against manhandling, assault and threat to life of doctors fraternity in various parts of Jharkhand.
The work in the Outdoor patient department of all government and private clinics came to a grinding halt as the doctors abstained from work demanding implementation of Medical Protection Act and proper security to doctors.
In a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, IMA Jamshedpur chapter Secretary Dr. Saurabh Chaudhary mention about a dozen of incidents of manhandling, assault and threat given to doctors on duty state-wide during last fortnight.
In fact, the life of life savers are in danger in the state.
The doctors observed the strike state-wide in support of their demand.
