Seraikela (Jharkhand): On the eve of Holi festival, Rajnagar police today seized large quantity of foreign liquor and arrested one person from Rajad village of Rajnagar in Seraikela-Kharswan district, police said.
Rajnagar Police had information that some people were unloading cartoons of liquor from a Scorpio vehicle and storing it in a house illegally in Rajad village.
On the directive of the Superintendent of Police, Rishabh Jha, a police raid team headed by Rajnagar police station Officer-in-Charge Chandan Kumar was formed for necessary action.
The team members conducted raid in the house of one Sikandar Kumbhkar alias Siken and recovered 288 bottles of foreign liquor of two different brand and arrested Kumbhkar, police said.
Three others persons managed to escape on seeing the approaching police team.
Officer-in-charge said police also confiscated the Scorpio used in transporting the liquor and one each of motorcycle and Activa scooty.
