Jamshedpur: A minor scuffle has broken out between Congress and BJP activists outside Jamshedpur Member of Parliament Bidyut Baran Mahato’s office in Bistupur over recent attack on Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar in Tripura.
Led by the Working President of East Singhbhum District Congress Committee Dharmendra Sonkar, several Congress party workers including women staged demonstration in front Mahato’s camp office in Bistupur here against rising prices of essential commodities and assault on Kumar, who was a Party In-charge of Tripura, Nagaland and Sikkim, allegedly by BJP activists during pre and post assembly election in Tripura.
A former MP from Jamshedpur, Kumar had suffered injuries in the attack and was admitted in a hospital there.
On hearing the noises, Mahato came out to know what’s happening outside his office when Congress activists questioned him why inflation was not under control? Where did the prices of oil and LPG cylinder come down?.
Though Mahato tried to respond to their queries but Congress activists were not bothered to hear him.
The activists of both the parties came face-to-face and also indulged in a scuffle followed by heated exchange of words but the situation was brought under control by timely intervention of police, who dispersed them.
Congress party workers, however, staged dharna outside MP’s camp office and kept raising slogans against inflation.
BJP also responded in a similar fashion to Congress.
