Seraikela (Jharkhand): Three persons were arrested today allegedly for attempting to set a man on fire in Kapali out police area of Seraikela-Kharswan district on March 15.
The arrested persons were identified as Rahul Singh, Mangal Manjhi and Bholu Ansari, all residents of Kapali under Chandil Sub-division, police said.
The accused trio had tried to set Laden Mahato ablaze after pouring petrol on him following an altercation over a petty issue on March 15.
Mahato sustained burn injuries in the incident. A police team had rushed to the spot and shifted Mahato to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur.
In view of the seriousness, Mahato was shifted to a private hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, the family members of the victim registered a case in this regard, which led to the arrest of the accused.
