Jamshedpur: A 40-year-old man was shot dead by mortor-cycle borne assailant in Dobo area under Kapali Outpost police of Seraikela-Kharswan district on late Friday evening, police said.
The victim identified as Suraj Kalindi, a mason by profession, was at home when he received a call on his mobile phone.
Kalindi went out following the call when the two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire and injured him critically.
The family members rushed out on hearing the gun shot and found Kalindi in pool of blood was struggling for life.
He was rushed to MGM hospital in Jamshedpur after the police was informed of the incident.
Kalindi, however, declared dead by the doctors.
Kalini has sustained bullet injury in the chest.
Family members said land dispute was suspected to be reason behind the incident.
The killer duo managed to escape after committing the crime.
