Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district police today appealed the people to celebrate the ensuing Ramnavami and Ramzan festivals with amity, peace and goodwill to maintain social and communal harmony.
Police also urged the masses not to play music or song that could hurt religious sentiment of any community and disturb the prevailing peace and communal harmony. Besides, police advised the people not to post misleading information, photo, video or objectionable comment on any religion.
Police have been keeping vigil on social media and warned of stringent action against persons posting inflammatory messages, video or forward such messages without verifying the facts.
Police appealed the general masses to inform nearest police station or whatsapp (7091091825/9508280796) to inform about inflammatory message or video posted on social media or any information to ensure necessary action against the miscreants.
Police sought co-operation from the masses to sustain prevailing peace, tranquility and communal harmony and also asked them not to pay heed to canards.
Police assured that the identity of the informer will be kept secret.
