Chaibasa (Jharkhand): A local court in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district on Monday sentenced two brothers to life imprisonment for stoning a man death in Lupungbeda under Chakradharpur police station in 2021.
The court of Principal District and Session Judge awarded Bagun Tuntiya and his brother Choran Tuntiya life imprisonment under sections 302/34 IPC for killing Koda Khandait on 24th May, 2021.
The court also imposed fine of Rs.10,000/-.
According to a FIR that was lodged in this regard, it was stated that the victim had gone to bath in a pond when he was entangled in a fishing net.
No sooner he had freed himself from the trap, the convicts duo suddenly attacked him with lathi and stone on his chest and head and critically injured him.
Koda was rushed Sub-divisional hospital, Chakradharpur but he succumbed to injuries at 11.00 PM of 26th May,2021.
In course of investigation, police had arrested the accused duo and sent them behind bar.
Police had filed a charge sheet after collecting all evidences professionally and scientifically, which led to the judgement.
