Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district administration geared up to ensure peaceful conduct of Ramanavami procession to be taken out on Friday.
A high-level meeting of the district was held at Ravindra Bhawan, Sakchi here today.
Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar briefed the Magistrates and police officials and directed them for strict vigil in sensitive areas.
The top officials instructed to inform any untoward incident, even smaller in nature, to the police control room for timely action.
The Super-zonal, Zonal Magistrates and police officials deputed for the Ramanavami procession were briefed by the DC and SSP, who chaired the meeting.
They suggested to provide details of sensitive and super-sensitive areas and asked to inform seniors about the possible steps needed to be taken to maintain law and order.
Apart from DC and SSP, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Mukesh Lunayat, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Dhalbhum) Piyush Sinha, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Manjhi, ADM (L&O) Deepu Kumar, Director DRDA Saurabh Sinha, ADC Jaideep Tigga, Special Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Sanjay Kumar, District Transport Officer Dinesh Ranjan, DCLR Ravindra Gagrai, DPO Arun Dwidi, among other, were present in the meeting.
The Magistrates and police officials present in the meeting were asked to ensure that immersion of Ramanavami jhanda should be over by 8 PM at any cost.
The processionists should not be allowed to stay at a place for long and be in constant touch with Akhara Committee license holders and volunteers.
The administration appealed the organizers to celebrate the festival without disturbing the prevailing peace and communal harmony and respect the religious sentiments of others.
DC Jadhav asked the officials to discharge responsibility sincerely and keep giving feedback to seniors from the spot itself.
There should not be any sort of mis-communication, share phone numbers with officials on duty and maintain co-ordination.
She said the static magistrate will accompany the procession and no official should leave the spot without the order of senior officials.
The magistrates deployed at river ghats should update the control room about the immersion proceedings, she added.
SSP Kumar said police personnel in civil dress will be deployed during the event to keep vigil on mischief mongers.
Hailing the efficiency of the officials to handle any untoward incident, SSP said you all have exhibited your mettle in the past and capable enough to maintain law and order.
The whole district is with you and you should maintain the energy to meet any eventuality, he said.
SSP adviced the officials to videograph, take photograph, in case of any attempt made by anti-social elements to disturb prevailing peace and tranquility.
He said appropriate action will be initiated against such elements, SSP assured.
SP (Rural) asked the magistrates and police to report on duty in time at the specified location.
Lunayat directed to inspect the procession routes, barricading etc and escort the procession till end.
Police should report on duty with all body protectors, SP (Rural) said.
