Jamshedpur: A day after Ramanavami immersion celebration, altogether twentyseven akhara committees of the steel city have taken out the Ramanavami jhanda immersion procession on Saturday amidst elaborate security arrangement, official said.
These akhara committees could not take part in the immersion procession on Friday due to the impasse prevailed between East Singhbhum district administration and Central Ramanavami Akhara Committee over the seizure of a trailer and DJ set of Bal Mandir Akhara Committee in Sakchi police station limit on Thursday night.
Besides, brick-bactting incident in Jugsalai and a strong storm accompanied by heavy rain last night were also the reason that led these akhara committees to defer the immersion procession for today.
The deadlock between the administration and the Central Akhara committees was resolved late in the evening on Friday, when the akhara committees decided to take Ramanavami immersion procession on Friday itself. However, 27 akhara committees could not take part yesterday and withheld it for Saturday.
Official sources said the procession of all the 27 akhara committees were taken out with pomp and gaiety. The akharas were heading towards different river ghats peacefully for immersion.
Jugsalai area, which witnessed stone throwing incident last night, has highest seven akharas, which could not take out the Ramanavami process on Friday, have. taken out procession today.
Jugsalai was followed by four akharas committees each in Golmuri and Sitaramdera police station limits, three each in Sakchi, Bagbera and Sonari and one from Burmamines.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar inspected the violence-marred Jugsalai to take of the situation.
A flag march was also staged in Jugsalai.
