Ranchi: Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato breathed his last in course of treatment in a hospital in Chennai. Around 55-year-old Mahato, who had airlifted to the Southern state in critical condition after he inflicted with Coronavirus in November last and had a lung transplant, was recently airlifted to Chennai following illness.
Mahato breathed his last today.
A senior JMM leader Mahato has been representing Dumri assembly constituency in the state cabinet for last three terms. In a tweet, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren condoled Mahato’s death and described it as “irreparable loss”. We hacemos a revolutionary, hard worker, active and popular leader, Soren twitted. May God rest his soul in peace and give enough strength to his family members to bear the lost. Meanwhile, the state government has postponed a cabinet meeting scheduled later in the day today. Besides, the government also announced to observe two days state mourning today and tomorrow in respect of Mahato.
