Chaibasa (Jharkhand): A powerful Improvised Explosive Device planted by the extremist group to targetĀ Security personnel on Tuesday was recovered from a forest near Meralgada village under Goilkera police station of naxal-affected West Singhbhum district.
The recovery was made in course of combing operation launched by the security personnel comprised of CRPF, Cobra, Jharkhand Jaguar and district armed police in core Kolhan areas of the district.
The law enforcing agency personnel detected the explosive planted by CPI (Maoists) on a kucha road in the forest to cause harm them.
The bomb disposal squad of CRPF has de troyed the IED of 5 kg weight on the spot.
A intensified combing operation against the left wing extremists group has been launched by the security personnel since January to eradicate the menace.
The district police had input about the activities of top Maoists leaders including Misir Besra, who carries a bounty of Rupees one crore on his head.
