Chaibasa (Jharkhand): West Singhbhum district police on Monday cracked the murder of a 32-year-old Gulshan Gope, whose body was recovered by police on Saturday, with the arrest of three persons from Jagannathpur police station limit. Gope, a resident of Noamundi police station area, was hacked to death for demanding the money, he had given to an accused to invest in share market about one and half year ago, back.
The body of Gope was recovered by police from Lokesai-Kiriburu forest on Saturday last.
Prima facie, police expressed suspicion that Gope wss murdered. He was hit by a sharp object on head to mislead police by exhibiting it an accidental death.
Police had registered a case in this connection and constituted a team headed by the Circle Inspector (Noamundi) Virendra Kumar to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators.
The investigating team comprising of Officer-in-Charge of Noamundi police station Ankita Singh, Sub-Inspector Sujit Kumar, ASIs Karunakar Tiwary, Shaukat Ali, Nagendra Ram swung into action and gathered evidences. The team also pressed its technical cell on the job.
A day after the murder, police arrested Sukhlal Sinku and his brother Yugal Sinku and Sedega Sinku alias Sindhu Sinku, all natives of Mogra village under Jagannathpur police station.
The arrested accused broke down in course of interrogation and confessed their crime.
About the reason behind the killing, they told police that Gulshan wanted to invest in the share market and had given Sukhlal Rupees Six lakhs about one and half year ago but Sukhlal neither invested nor returned the money.
Gulshan kept mounting pressure on Sukhlal to return the money or transfer a part of his land in lieu of the amount but the accused was unwilling to do so.
Sukhlal consulted his brother and a friend and conspired to kill Gulshan on 11th March last.
