Chaibasa (Jharkhand): The court of Principal District and Session Judge, Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of a railway employee in Manoharpur, West Singhbhum district over in October 2021.
The Principal District and Session Judge held Birsa Tirkey alias Bhouta of Bangla Tola in Ganmour village under Manoharpur police station, convict for killing the railway employee Umesh Kashyap on the night of 5/6th October, 2021 and threw the body on rail track beside Posaita station.
According to a FIR registered in this regard, the victim was opposing the illicit relationship the accused was having with his paternal aunt but Tirkey did not heed.
Instead, Tirkey eliminated Kashyap on 5/6th October, 2021 and dumped the body on rail track near Posaita station.
Police had arrested Tirkey after a case was registered under section 302 IPC in this connection.
A chargesheet with evidences collected scientifically by the police and the life sentence was awarded on this basis.
The court also imposed Rs.10,000/- fine on him.
