In accordance with the Swachh Bharat vision of Prime Minister, Special Cleanliness Campaign 2.0 is being organized from 2nd to 31st October, 2022. Ministry of Railways has taken up its all stations for Cleanliness Campaign. As per Railway Board’s directives, South Eastern Railway is also organising special cleanliness drives for better and cleaner environment. Emphasis has been laid on mechanized cleaning of stations. Special focus has been given on cleanliness of trains and stations.
Along with SER Headquarters, Cleanliness Campaigns are also being organized at all 4 divisions of South Eastern Railway viz Adra, Kharagpur, Chakradharpur and Ranchi. During this campaign, intensive cleaning and sanitization drives are being carried out at stations, trains, colonies, hospitals, offices and other railway establishments. Mechanised cleaning has been implemented at major stations over SER jurisdiction. Regular Cleaning drives and maintaining of cleanliness at stations is also adding to the passengers’ satisfaction. Importance is also given on collection and safe disposal of plastic and other waste.
As a part of this campaign, initiative has also been taken on disposal of “Office Scrap”. As a result of this drive, much space has been cleared, which was earlier occupied by junk and scrap.
