Jamshedpur FC drew 2-2 with Chennaiyin FC in an enthralling encounter in the Hero Indian Super League at the Furnace thanks to a brace from Ritwik Kumar Das.
The Men of Steel looked visibly different from their previous game against Kerala Blasters, with the most significant inclusion being that of new signing Pronay Halder.
An altered formation of 4-2-2 hoped to provide the balance needed and the decision worked wonders as Ritwik Kumar Das broke the deadlock in the 17th minute.
A lovely passing sequence finished with Ritwik slotting the ball into the net and giving Jamshedpur a well deserved lead.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas had a good chance to double the advantage from the edge of the box just before halftime but his shot was saved by Samik Mitra in the Chennaiyin goal.
The second half started with similar energy for the Men of Steel, with Boris Singh replacing Ishan Pandita and adding more pace on the flanks.
The second JFC goal, however, came from the opposite flank in the 56th minute, where Ritwik Das danced his way past the Chennaiyin back line and curled one into the top corner with ease.
The Marina Machans fought back immediately though, with Vincy Barretto turning and striking one firmly into the bottom corner in the 60th minute to make it 2-1.
Petar Sliskovic added to the home sideās troubles by equalising in the 68th minute, erasing the two-goal advantage Jamshedpur initially had.
The away side piled on the pressure as the game went on, but were unable to find a winning goal, with Vishal Yadav in the Jamshedpur goal stopping any efforts that were on target.
The game ended 2-2 with Jamshedpur still continuing to look for that elusive Hero ISL victory.
The Men of Steel will be in action next on Friday, 13th January, as they take on East Bengal in Kolkata.
