Jamshedpur: The Steel city of Jamshedpur is all set to host two-day 2nd edition of Jamshedpur Classic Car and Bike rally from 25th February at Gopal Maidan.
The event was being organized by Tata Steel, who was currently busy preparing for the Founder’s day celebration on March 3.
The theme of the vintage car and bike rally this year is “Colonial India”.
Tata Steel is inviting all vintage car and bike owners to participate in the unique event that celebrate their passion.
The number of participants this year was expected to be more compare to the inaugural edition as several vintage car and bike owners outside the state expressed their willingness to take part in the event, which will be flagged from Gopal maidan on February 25.
In the inaugural edition last year, Over 40 vintage and classic cars and bikes had participated in the first-ever ‘Tata Steel Classic and Vintage Car and Bike Rally’ in Jamshedpur town in February last year.
The rally had been organised as part of the 183rd Founder`s Day celebration honouring the vision and memory of the Company’s and Tata Group’s founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.
Over 40 vintage and classic cars and bikes from 1920s to 1980s from Ranchi, Chaibasa and Jamshedpur had taken part in the rally, which was flagged off by Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Steel T V Narendran from Gopal maidan.
It was a unique opportunity for the owners to display their vehicles in this rally and experience the city on wheels. The rally had also included a special participant, Jamshedpur’s very own ‘Hitodi’, a 50cc moped that was manufactured by India Automotives Ltd in Adityapur in the 1970s.
Among other vintage cars and bikes that had taken part in the rally included Mercedes-Benz Nurburg RJJ1(1928), Chevrolet (Confederate 1932), Austin Princess (Princess A-135) (1940-49), and Re Fantabulous (1962) bike.
