Jamshedpur: 1500 youths have taken part in one-day mega placement drive programme organised by District Skill Development Office under the aegis of Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS) at the premises of Gollmuri Employment Exchange here on Wednesday.
The objective of the programme was to provide employment to Skilled and educated unemployed men and women.
Altogether 29 recruiters have shortlisted 858 candidates and selected 507 candidates.
The Chief Guest of the programme Vijaya Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum district, has distributed the offer letters to the selected candidates.
The Director of DRDA Saurabh Sinha, District Planning Officer Arun Dwidi, District Skill Officer Bum Baiju were present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner and the guests present on the occasion have unveiled a book related to various schemes being provided by JSDMS.
Addressing the participating youths, Jadhav said people are deprived of opportunities due lack of information while emphasising the need for alertness.
She appealed the educated unemployed youths to register themselves with the employment exchange, so that they could be informed in time whenever the recruiters informed of the vacancies.
DC assured that a similar mega placement camp would be organized for the youths in the rural pockets of Ghatsila Sub-division.
She said the government’s intention was to provide employment to educated unemployed youths in the state and district so that they need not to go to other states in search of livelihood.
This was the reason for organizing such camp.
29 recruiters from the district and other places have taken part to fill 2687 vacant posts.
Among the recruiters included BMW Industries Limited, Steel Strip Wheels Limited, Dream Stream Pvt Ltd, Quality Fabricaters, Seva Sahyog Security Pvt Ltd etc.
They have recruited for various posts inccluding Safety Officer, Trainee, Security Guards, Supervisor, House Keeping, Gunman, Safety Supervisor, Office Staff, Cook, ITI Wielder, Fitter, Mechanical Supervisor, Weilder-cum-Glass cutter, Field Officer, Marketing, Quality Control, Molding Helper, Receptionist, Driver, Civil Engineer, Swing machine operator, Beautician etc.
