Jamshedpur: A miscreant was caught while trying to escape after snatching a bag from a woman in Circuit House area in Jamshedpur on Monday.
The victim woman, a resident of Jhabri bustee in Sonari, was on her way to a school to get the report card of her child today morning when two miscreants on a bike snatched away her bag, police said.
On hearing the scream of the woman, the passers-by gave a chase and caught one of the snatcher near Bistupur roundabout.
The miscreant was badly beaten up before he was handed over to Bistupur police.
The victim woman Reena Devi was going to school on foot when the accused duo followed her and the pillion rider snatched her bag.
The passers-by noticed the incident only when the victim raised alarm and gave them hot chase. Finally, one of the accused was caught and beaten up before he was handed over to police.
Police behan investigation after a case was lodged in this regard.
Police launched a hunt to apprehend the other accused.
