Jamshedpur: A violent bull horned two persons to death near Sitla Mandir in Sakchi police station limit of Jamshedpur Friday morning, a police officer said.
The incident occurred when the victims were crossing the road on foot at around 5.30 am and the bull turned violent suddenly and attacked them, police said.
The victims (aged around 55) were badly gored by the bull and injured them severely.
As the incident took place early morning, there was very few people on road even though the area remains busy in day time.
The victims tried their best to escape from the clutches of the strong bull but in vain as it caused them severe injuries.
On hearing screams, local residents in large number assembled and informed the police.
The injured Ashok Agarwal and Rajkishore are resident of Penar Road, Sakchi. They were taken to MGM Hospital but doctors declared them dead.
Sub-Divisional Officer (Dhalbhum) Piyush Sinha, who reached the spot, called the officials of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, Tata Steel Zoo and Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited and directed them to put up barricade to check movement of the bull.
The bull was tranquilized and lifted by a JCB before it was sent to a gaushala.
Meanwhile, the panicky passers-by ran for safety on seeing the bull.
