Jamshedpur: An illicit liquor factory was on Tuesday busted and a large quantity of liquor seized by the Excise department officials in a raid conducted in Babudih,Gwala basti Bhuiyandih under Sidgora police station here, an official statement said.
A massive raids across the city was launched against sale of illicit liquor on the directive of East Singhbhum district Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav in view of ensuing Ramanavami festival.
In course of the operation, the Excise department sleuths busted a liquor factory being operated illegally.
The raid team also seized materials required for making foreign brand liquor illegally as well as 500 litres of illicit liquor from the spot.
A case in this regard was registered against the operators, who are reported at large.
Among other, the officials impounded 50 cartoons of 750 ml Black Horse Whisky meant sale only in Arunachal Pradesh, 30 litres of colored foreign liquor, 105 bottles (27.465 litres) of illegal foreign brand of liquor, 100 leaf of stickers of foreign brand liquor, 500 pieces of cork of various liquor brands, 50 leaves of hologram stickers and a Honda Activa scooter without registration.
