Jamshedpur : An evacuation drill was conducted at NML Kerala Public School by SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) with the help of the Fire Services team of Tata Steel. Around 1600 students participated in the mock drill.
Students and teachers were apprised about processes to be followed, like emergency response plan, routes to be followed, headcount after evacuation, and other necessary protocols. The condition of fire extinguishers in the school were also checked as part of the drill.
Mom Mitra, Convener SAFE and Manager, Safety, Tata Steel, Jagjeet Singh and Santosh Shukla from Fire Services Tata Steel facilitated the mock drill. The principal, Ms Gurmeet Kaur and the Safe Club Coordinators, Ms Gunjan Jaggi & Ms Pritma Sachdev from school were also present at the occassion.
SAFE organises these training sessions regularly to increase safety awareness among school children on various topics.
