Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum police on Monday solved a shoot out incident within 24-hour after it took place in Islamnagar under Jugsalai police station area with the arrest of three accused, a senior police officer said.
A 22-year-youth Zahid Hussain was shot at and injured allegedly by three persons near Kharkhai river on Sunday.
Zahid, who sustained bullet injury in his thigh, was rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.
Addressing a press conference here, Superintendent of Police (City) K Vijay Shankar said a case in this regard was registered on the statement of the victim Zahid Hussain alias Vicky under section 323/341/307/34 IPC and 27 Arms Act against Md. Armaan alias Raj (22), Md. Armanuddin (22) and Md. Sadab Hussain (21).
A police team led by SP (city) was formed and the team swung into action and started conducting raid in all possible hide outs of the assailants.
In the process, SP said a named accused Md. Armaan was apprehended and recovered a country-made fire-arm on the basis of lead provided by him during interrogation.
Armaan’s arrest led police to nab his accomplices Md. Armanuddin and Sadab Hussain, he said adding a country-made pistol, an empty cartridge and the scooty used in the crime was confiscated.
In their confession, the arrested trio told police that the incident was a fallout of an old enmity.
Vicky used to threat them with dire consequences whereever they met and even barred their entry into his street.
Fed up of the threats, the accused said they opened fire at Vicky.
Police also seized a mobile phone from their possession.
