Jamshedpur: Tata Steel observes 34th National Road Safety Month reiterating its commitment of ‘Safety First’. The 34th National Road safety Month is being observed under the guidance of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India.
Tata Steel Safety Department in collaboration with the Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) and Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Ltd (TSUISL) organised a road safety awareness programme for general public by rewarding followers of road safety rules besides screening videos on the theme for enhancing safety awareness at various places in Jamshedpur.
Earlier, the Safety Professional Team with its Road Safety Stewards under the leadership of Sanjay Mishra, Head Safety Rail & Road, Tata Steel along with the Office Bearers of TWU, Shahnawaz Alam, Sanjeev Tiwary, Saroj Kumar Singh, Baiju Pandit, Jay Shanker Singh, Amolak Singh among others visited various locations like Jamshedpur Women’s University, Beldih Church Traffic Island etc to spread road safety awareness and counsel violators.
People following traffic rules, wearing helmets, walking on pedestrian path, using Zebra Crossing were appreciated and given token gifts as encouragement and appreciation. Road rules violators were counselled, people using headphones and mobiles on road were also made aware of the risks involved and counselled.
During this entire session, a mobile Safety Van from TSUISL was screening Road safety Videos for enhancing awareness. The Safety Team of TSUISL led by Narendra Mishra, Dy Chief Manager, Safety, Santosh Pandey, Manager Safety assisted the awareness session by reaching out to Jamshedpur citizens and creating a positive impact.
