Jamshedpur: A 40-year-old woman electrocuted after she came in contact with a snapped high tension live wire in Kadamdih under Sundernagar police station of Jamshedpur on Thursday night, police said.
A high tension wire was snapped and fell on the ground in yesterday’s storm.
The woman was returning home after taking part in a discourse on Bhagvat Gita when the victim Jhunu Mahato came in contact with it.
Mahato electrocuted soon after she came in contact with the live wire.
Enraged over the incident, the local residents have threatened to put up road blockade with body if adequate compensation was not given to deceased family.
Mahato’s husband was labour and has three children.
The villagers accused the negligence of the electric department for the death of Mahato.
Electric department officials, however, assured to provide compensation as per the provisions of the government.
Mahato’s post-mortem was to be conducted today.
