Jamshedpur।
Xavier School of Management (XLRI) has enhanced the financial aid for scholars of the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) – a full-time, residential doctoral programme offering studies in different fields of management and functional areas.
With effect from June 1st, 2023, the full-time doctoral scholar will be awarded a fellowship of Rs. 45,000 per month during the 1st and 2nd years, and Rs. 50,000/- per month for the next two years in addition to tuition waiver, to help meet living and other expenses. Fellowship will be paid only to full-time residential students, and for a period of four years. An extension of the financial support beyond four years is considered on a case-by-case basis subject to the academic performance of the concerned scholar.
“XLRI’s enhanced financial support is now higher than that provided by the IIMs and the IITs to its full time doctoral students. In enhancing the financial support to FPM scholars, XLRI is driven by a keen intention to train and supply highly quality management scholars to meet the country’s growing needs in the management education space. This enhancement will empower the FPM scholars to focus more on their doctoral research study, worry less about their financial requirements, and thereby deliver a better quality of management research output”, an official statement of XLRI Jamshedpur, said.
An FPM scholar is also entitled to a contingency grant of Rs. 30,000 per annum for four years. After successful completion of the CQE, and with prior approval of the FPM chair, the institute provides support for presentations in conferences, up to a total of Rs. 2,50,000. Fellow students can avail a data collection grant of up to Rs. 50,000 in total during their third and fourth years in the programme. FPM scholars are given a full waiver of the hostel accommodation charges on the XLRI Jamshedpur campus, during the four years of tenure in the programme.
The FPM at XLRI Jamshedpur is an intense and rigorous full-time study programme that typically takes about four years. The programme trains prospective scholars to become skilled and innovative researchers and teachers in management. The FPM is recognized as equivalent to the Ph.D. programme of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). XLRI’s doctoral alumni today serve as faculty members in reputed business scholars in India and abroad. Dr. Anand Kumar Jaiswal, is a Professor of Marketing at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, while Dr. Abhisek Kuanr is a faculty member at with the Essex Business School, UK.
