Jamshedpur: A clerk.of Sales Tax department here on Tuesday was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while accepting cash in bribe in Jamshedpur.
A businessman has registered a complaint with Jamshedpur Bureau of ACB against the clerk Subodh Singh.
Singh had refused to give certificate related to his business unless his demand of Rs.20,000/- bribe.
The businessman was reluctant to pay the bribe and lodged the complaint with ACB.
ACB officials found the allegation of the businessman true and registered a FIR against the clerk.
ACB officials laid a trap and caught Singh when he was accepting chemical applied currency notes in his chamber.
Singh was brought to ACB bureau in Sonari for further investigation.
A team of ACB was reportedly conducted raid in Singh’s house and launched search operation.
