Chaibasa (Jharkhand): The district police of West Singhbhum today recovered four improvised explosive device (IED) in course of search operation in a forest near Meralgada village under Goilkera police station of West Singhbhum district.
The security forces comprised of 60,197, 157, 174, 193, 07, 26 battalions of CRPF, 209, 203, 205 battalions of Cobra, Jharkhand Jaguar and District Armed Police were on a search operation in a forest around Meralgada village following a tip off about the activities of top leaders of banned CPI (Maoists) including Misir Besra, who carries a reward of Rupees one crore on his head, police officer said.
In course of the operation, the law enforcing personnel spotted the IEDs planted by ultras to harm them.
However, the IEDs were recovered and defused on the spot by bomb disposal squad.
One IED was weighed 5 kgs shetra other three were of 2/3 kgs.
