Jamshedpur: Private steel behemoth Tata Steel today witnessed installation of fourth rooftop solar power project of 1.44 MWp capacity at Hot Strip Mill inside works here.
The facility was inaugurated by Chaitanya Bhanu, Vice President Steel Manufacturing, Tata Steel at Hot Strip Mill.
This project has been commissioned by Tata Power under the larger agreement with Tata Steel for installation of total 41MW at various location with a combination of roof top, floating and ground mounted solar panels across its locations.
Three rooftop solar projects at Central Warehouse, Cold Rolling Mill and Wire Rod Mill totalling to 5.13 MWp have been commissioned earlier. A floating solar power project of 10.8 MWp in Tata Steel Jamshedpur Works and ground mounted solar power project of 2.0 MWp is also planned at Sonari Airport.
