Chaibasa/Jamshedpur/Seraikela: A high-level meeting of senior officials of Kolhan division comprising of East and West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan districts was held in connection with ensuing Ramnavami festival.
Kolhan division Commissioner and DIG jointly chaired the meeting held virtually.
The focus of the meeting was to ensure law and order.
The Deputy Commissioners and Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Officers, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Special branch) and officials of water and electricity department of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan districts were taken part in the meeting.
The Commissioner has enquired about the arrangements being made for Ramnavami from the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police from the respective districts.
Seraikela-Kharswan district Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal said the peace committees meetings with the representatives of all Akhara committees were completed.
Three control rooms have been set up in the district and deployed officials and employees to monitor in three shifts.
Besides, drones will be pressed into service to keep vigil on all procession routes and if required, temporary CCTV cameras will be installed.
Rajkamal said a vigil would also be kept on social media. Legal action would be initiated against the person concerned or admin of the whatsapp group, if post any inflammatory message, video, photo or share such posts.
East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav informed that temporary CCTV cameras are being installed in places where it was not installed. As per requirement, she said barricading were erected on procession routes to control traffic.
Altogether 15 drone cameras will be pressed into service to keep vigil on miscreants on procession day.
A massive cleanliness drive of roads and drains were being carried out and trimming the branches of trees, wherever required, to prevent mishaps.
Arrangement for mobile medical units were also made, DC Jadhav said.
Deputy Commissioner, West Singhbhum district Ananya Mittal said peace committee meetings in the district have been completed and also set up control room.
We have also deputed officials to monitor the situation over CCTV installed in the control room in all three shifts.
The administration was also keeping vigil on social media and warned of stringent action against person for posting inflammatory or objectionable messages, sharing it or objectionable videos and photos.
DC said he along with SP inspected all the routes the procession scheduled to pass through and also directed concerned officials to remove stones from roads.
Special department have formed teams to investigate and gather information from sensitive areas of the district.
Besides, arrangement of drone cameras have been made for all the three sub-divisions of the district.
Adequate police force with magistrate have been deployed to maintain law and order.
The Commissioner has directed all the Deputy Commissioners to inspect the identified routes of procession.
Besides, he suggested to inspect CCTV cameras installed in the procession routes and set up barricade on these routes to control traffic congestion.
Monitoring through drones must be Carried out and keep an eye on vulgar songs as well as social media, the Commissioner said.
He directed to initiate action against mischief monger spreading canards.
The Commissioner also asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure no official or employee should leave headquarter from 28th to 31st March. However, the leave will be sanctioned in special case following the approval of Deputy Commissioner.
