Medininagar (Palamu)’ A 33-year-old Jharkhand Jaguar jawan today morning hanged himself to death in Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP)-08 camp premises in Lesliganj of Palamu district.
Following the incident, his colleagues staged protest strongly and gheraoed by concerned DySP holding him responsible for the incident.
On getting the information about Verma’s death, his family members left Bagbeda, Jamshedpur for Palamu.
The autopsy of Verma will be held only after his family reached Palamu.
Verma had joined Indian Reserve Battalion and was deputed in Jharkhand Jaguar for elimination of ultras.
Verma was undergoing training in JAP-08 premises in Lesliganj, Palamu since January 23.
Verma’s batchmates went out in search of Verma after failed to attend the training session and found him hanging.
Verma was shifted to Lesliganj Community Health centre, where doctors referred him to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital, Medininagar but the jawan breathed his last on way, police said adding that police has began investigation thoroughly.
