Jamshedpur, : An evacuation drill was conducted at Loyola School by SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) with the help of the Fire Services team of Tata Steel. Around 1700
students participated in the mock drill.
Students and teachers were apprised about processes to be followed, like emergency response plan, routes to be followed, headcount after evacuation, and other necessary protocols. The condition of fire extinguishers in the school were also checked as part of the drill.
Mom Mitra, Convener SAFE and Manager, Safety, Tata Steel and Kamal Anand, Manager, Disaster Management, Tata Steel facilitated the mock drill. The Principal Fr Pius Fernandes, and the Vice Principal Sr Section Mrs Jayanthi Sheshadri, from school were also present at the occassion
SAFE organises these training sessions regularly to increase safety awareness among school children on various topics.
The SAFE club is a conglomerate of schools of Jamshedpur chaired by Ruchi Narendran. Tata Steel facilitates this initiative by organizing training on various topics and conducting mock drills for schools.
