Seraikela (Jharkhand): Over 45-year-old man was axed to death allegedly by a villager in Saherbeda village under Kendra police station of Seraikela-Kharswan district on last night, police said.
The victim Konda Munda and the accused Sonia Munda had quarrel over plucking a jackfruit from a tree situated in the premises of the victim, police said.
In a fit of rage, Sonia picked up an axe and hit it on the neck of Konda, who was killed instantly.
On being informed of the incident, a police rushed to the village and recovered the body, which was sent for post-mortem in Sadar Hospital.
After committing the crime, Sonia escaped under the cover of forest.
A case has been registered in this regard and police has began the investigation.
The incident occurred in naxal-affected village under Hudu panchayat.
