South Eastern Railway is observing Swachhata Pakhwara as a part of Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat Mission from 16th September, 2022 to 2nd October, 2022. Intensive Cleanliness Drives have been undertaken at Headquarters and four divisions of South Eastern Railway viz. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi. Several events have also been organised over SER jurisdiction in connection with Swachhata Pakhwara.
This year, special focus is being given on cleanliness of tracks at stations, approach to major stations and elimination of plastic waste in Railway premises. During the Pakhwara, intensive cleaning and sanitization of stations, trains, tracks, colonies and other railway establishments is being carried out with special focus on plastic waste management.
Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, initiated the Swachhata Pakhwara by administering Swachhata Pledge to officers and staff at SER Headaquarters, Garden Reach on 16.09.2022. South Eastern Railway employees took oath to maintain cleanliness at workplace and keep India as a neat and clean country. A Webinar was arranged at SER Headquarters on “Water Pollution & Plastic Waste Management” and “Energy Conservation & Pollution Control” on 19.09.2022. A Drawing Competition of Railway employees and their wards was organised at Garden Reach on the theme of Water Conservation. On 23.09.2022 an online Essay Competition was also arranged on the themes i) Water Pollution- Problem & Solution ii) Renewable energy and its uses.
South Eastern Railway Central Hospital and SER Bharat Scouts & Guides organised a Blood Donation Camp at South Eastern Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach on 27.09.2022. as a part of Swachhata Pakhwara.
