Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) run Sport Climbing Academy cadets brought laurels by winning three Gold and two Silver medals during Nilgiri Cup, a lead climbing competition held in Wellington, Tamil Nadu.
A total of 11 athletes participated from the TSAF Sport Climbing Academy accompanied by their coach, Babulal Rawat and manager, Roshni Bisht. Out of them, five athletes from TSAF grass-root development centres at Bagunhatu and Pipla were also selected to participate in this National level competition.
Organized by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation in association with the Army Adventure Wing, the Nilgiri Cup Lead Climbing Competition was held in the Army cantonment area of the Madras Regiment in Wellington.

Joga Purty won the Gold medal in Junior girls Lead
Ronit Bandra won the Gold medal in Junior boys Lead
Savitri Samad won the Gold in Sub-junior girls Lead
Aman Verma won the Silver medal in Men’s final Lead
Kundan Kumar Singh won the Silver medal in Sub junior boys Lead

The contingent travelled from Jamshedpur on December 18 and returned on December 26. A total of 150 candidates from all over India participated in the Lead climbing competition held across 6 categories – Sub junior, Junior and Open for both Male and Female.
TSAF recently hosted the three-day Asian Kids Sport Climbing Championship 2022 in Jamshedpur from December 8 to 11.
