Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Foundation CII Model Career Centre organised a Job Fair at Jamshedpur (Burmamines) today.
TSF in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has established Model Career Centre (MCC) in Jamshedpur, with an aim to guide/counsel the job seekers to pursue the right career choice and support them to provide better placement opportunities.
Mr. Rajesh Prasad (Joint Labour Commissioner) was invited as Chief Guest of the Opening Ceremony while Mr. Bom Baiju, Employer officer, East Singhbhum, Capt. Amitabh, Head Skill Development Tata Steel, Mr. Saidarsan Panigrahy Head HR, Tata Steel were present as guests.
Total 14 companies from manufacturing and service sector participated with 1000 job offering specially for graduate, ITI, Diploma, intermediate and matric level. This time, MCC introduced the QR based IT solution to make the candidates entry, registration and interview process quick. Total 513 candidate participation was recorded by using IT app developed to track live status at entry gate, employer counter interview count and exit process. The candidates also visited various counters of Tata Steel Foundation Skill Development Initiative short-term and long program to register themselves.
Companies will share the final selected or shortlisted candidates list with Model Career Centre within 15 days after conducting the final round of practical interview.
Notably, MCC has provided a platform to the niche group of job seekers who are either unaware of or cannot access other job portals. While the services of MCC are open to all job seekers, focus would be to reach out to the youth from socially and economically marginalized sections of the society. On the other, MCC provide the support to the industries for hiring the right talent pool to reduce the skill gap.
