Noamundi (West Singhbhum): World Health Day was celebrated at Tata Steel Hospital, Noamundi on Friday. To mark the occasion, a Health Camp was organiased at Diriburu village under Bara Jamda area while several sessions were conducted at various locations in residential area to make the people aware about their health and other various aspects related to lifestyle ailments.
Nearly 150 villagers of nearby areas attended the health camp and were screened.
Officers, employees and contract workers of Tata Steel Hospital,attended the sessions held at JRDTTI Complex and Knowledge Centre.
On the occasion, Dr Dhirendra Kumar, Chief Medical Officer, Tata Steel Hospital, Noamundi said, “Over the years, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) have become the leading cause of death and suffering. Heart diseases, Cancer, Chronic Respiratory diseases and Diabetes account more than half of these deaths. Hence we need to be extra careful about our health and lifestyle”.
To prevent diseases, the attendees were advised to maintain healthy lifestyle, regular exercises and health analysis in a regular time interval.
During interaction, it was pointed that investing in preventing healthcare measures will significantly minimise our expense in fighting diseases in long run.
Doctors of Tata Steel Hospital, Noamundi- Dr Tapas Sarangi, Dr B N Mishra, Dr Ghanshyam Bihari and Dr Amala Sankar Chatterjee attended the health camp and awareness sessions.
