Chaibasa:Father, his two sons arrested for killing daughter

Chaibasa (Jharkhand): West Singhbhum district police today cracked the mysterious death of 20-yeard-old girl with the arrest of her 52-year-old father and two brothers on Sunday from Inchidasai in Potka under Chakradharpur police station of West Singhbhum district, Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar today said.
SP said the accused father Md Mustafa Ahmed had beaten his daughter mercilessly till she lost her consciousness and dumped her body in a well presuming her dead on the night of 9/10th February.
Mustafa Ahmed got infuriated on finding her 20-year-old daughter Sadia Kaushar talking on a whatsapp call on the intervening night of 9/10th February last, Ashutosh Shekhar said.

Addressing a press conference here, SP said when Sadia fell unconscious following a head injury, Mustafa Ahmed had presumed her dead and the threw the body in a nearby well with help of his two sons-Md. Shaad (25) and Sheikh Mohammad Wakash (18).

The accused father and his two sons tied bricks with the body before they dumped it in a well, SP said elaborating that Mustafa Ahmed had registered a complaint next day, stating that his daughter Sadia had gone missing.

Three days later, when the body was recovered from the well and the body was identified as that of Sadia, Mustafa Ahmed had lodged a FIR under section 376/302/34 IPC, accusing that his daughter was raped and murdered by unidentified person.

He had convinced the local resident and squatted on road demanding arrest of the perpetrator throwing the road traffic haywire for hours.

SP said, however,  police had detected the location of the Sadia’s mobile phone in her home on the day of occurrence of the incident during preliminary investigation that began soon after a missing report was lodged by Mustafa Ahmed.

On the directive of SP, a police team headed by the Sub-divisional Police Officer (Chakradharpur) Kapil Chaudhary pressed a sniffer dog and investigated the case scientifically.

Police was taken aback when the truth revealed during the investigation and the evidences collected.

SP said Mustafa Ahmed had found Sadia attending a whatsapp call on the intervening nights of 9/10th February and got angry with his daughter. In a fit of raze, he started beating up Sadia black and blue. Sadia had sustained head injury and fainted.

Mustafa Ahmed, however,  thought Sadia had died.

Apprehending arrest, Mustafa Ahmed decided to throw the body in a well.

He along with two sons tied bricks with Sadia’s body and dumped the body in the well instead of taking her to a hospital, SP added.

In course of the rigorous interrogation, Mustafa Ahmed broke down and spelt the bean, confessing the crime.
